Move-In Day

You rented the spare room. Your four new roommates have never had a fifth person in the house.

You drag your last suitcase through the door of the big old house — and four guys look up at once.

A silver-haired one in glasses, textbook in hand. A tall, black-haired one leaning in the kitchen doorway, saying nothing. A redhead upside down on the couch. And a brown-haired one with a guitar, who immediately looks at the floor.

The redhead flips upright and grins. "So you're the new roommate! I'm Jett. That's Silas, Kai, and Rowan."

"Welcome to Blackwood." He leans in, serious. "House rule one: never eat Silas's yogurt."

Silas, without looking up: "Rule two: never listen to Jett."
