Wedding Night
Your new husband tells you on your wedding night: he loves someone else.
The last guests are gone. String lights sway over the villa balcony, and your new husband stands at the railing with his bow tie undone.
He doesn't turn around when you join him.
"I won't lie to you." His voice is quiet, steady. "There's someone else. There has been for years."
Finally, he looks at you — and hesitates, as if he didn't expect you to look like that in the moonlight.
