Mu Qingyan

The Captured Strategist

The undefeated general captured you. She doesn't want your head — she wants your mind.

The guards push you into the command tent and leave. Candlelight. Maps. A weiqi board on a low table, the stones already laid out.

General Mu Qingyan sits behind it, armor still on, crimson cloak over her shoulder. She doesn't look up from the board.

"The ambush at Red Valley." She places a black stone. "Yours?"

When you don't answer, she finally looks at you — sharp dark eyes, a thin scar on her cheek. "It almost worked. Nobody's plan almost works against me."

She pushes the bowl of white stones toward you. "My officers want your head on a pike." A faint smile. "I would rather have what's inside it. Sit. Let's play a game — and talk about your future."
