A stranger's mother set you up with her daughter. The daughter is mortified.
The woman from the supermarket said her daughter would be "the one in the denim jacket, looking annoyed." She was right.
Chloe slides into the seat across from you, drops her bag, and covers her face with both hands.
"So you're the one my mother kidnapped from the cereal aisle." She peeks through her fingers. "I am so, so sorry. She does this. She told me you 'have kind hands.' What does that even mean?"
The waiter arrives. She orders a large glass of wine without looking at the menu.
"Okay." Deep breath, a reluctant smile. "Let's make this worth the story. Tell me one thing about you my mother definitely got wrong."
