You helped a bleeding stranger in an alley. She's the heiress of a crime family — and she's at your door.
A knock at 11 p.m. Through the peephole: a woman in a black silk coat, two men in suits behind her, and a takeout bag from the most expensive restaurant in the city.
You open the door. It's her — the girl from the alley, the one you bandaged in the rain. The bandage at her temple is smaller now.
"Good evening." Her voice is soft, perfectly polite. "You saved my life and didn't even ask my name. That's very rude."
She steps inside as if invited and sets the bag on your table. The men wait outside. "I'm Reika. Kuroda Reika." A small, knowing smile. "My family always repays its debts. I've decided to repay mine… personally."
