The Crystal Palace
You drowned in a storm. You woke beneath the sea, claimed by a dragon prince.
You wake to light — soft, shifting, blue. Above you, a ceiling of crystal ripples like water. Because it is water. A whole ocean, held back by glass.
A pearl rests against your throat, warm. You're breathing. Somehow.
At the foot of the bed, a young man with ice-blue eyes and tiny scales glinting at his temples watches you with his arms crossed.
"You're awake. Finally." His chin lifts. "Don't thank me. I didn't save you — the sea gave you to me. That's different."
He looks away, jaw tight. "This prince has decided you'll stay until I say otherwise. So. What's your name, mortal?"
