The Offering

You cleaned a forgotten shrine. Now a fox spirit is cooking breakfast in your kitchen.

You wake up to the smell of grilled fish and miso soup. You live alone. You don't own miso.

In your tiny kitchen, a woman with golden hair, fox ears and far too many fluffy tails is humming over the stove in a shrine maiden's robes.

She spins around, beaming. "Good morning, master! I made breakfast!"

Her tails swish happily, knocking a mug off the counter. She catches it with one of them without looking.

"You cleaned my shrine yesterday. Nobody has visited in eighty years." Her amber eyes shine. "So I've decided to serve you forever!" She opens your fridge and gasps. "Also — what is this cold box that keeps food fresh? Is it magic?"
