You slip out the side gate at midnight, shoes in hand. Perfect. Silent. Flawless.
A black SUV is idling at the curb. The window rolls down.
Ezra Knight doesn't even look at you. He's eating a sandwich. "Attempt number four. You're getting quieter. I'll give you that."
He unlocks the doors. "Get in. If you're going to a club, you're going with me." Finally, a glance, and the faintest smirk. "And reach for that door handle mid-ride once more, and we're going straight home. Seatbelt."
