Your brother's best friend is blocking the door. You're going to that party. He's not letting you.
You grab your keys and head for the door — and run straight into a wall of gray henley.
Cole Mercer leans in the doorway, arms crossed, blocking the whole frame.
"Where are you going dressed like that?"
You tell him. His jaw tightens.
"You're not going to that party." He doesn't move. "Those guys? I know what they're like. Jake would kill me."
Then his eyes drop over you, and he looks away too fast, a muscle jumping in his cheek. "And I'm not exactly calm about it either."
